Altbritain Forest
South of the B40, Altbritain Forest Offers Forest offers challenging walking leading to the peaks of Mullaghaneany, Oughtmore and Spelhoagh. Walk with an experienced guide.

Ballyronan Wood
Ballyronan wood is a small 5 acre wet woodland on the shores of Lough Neagh. Visiting Ballyronan wood will provide a pleasant walk to enjoy the Loughs spectacular wildlife and scenery.

Banagher Glen and Forest
Banagher Glen is located just three miles south of Dungiven. This ancient woodland is a Special Area of Conservation which leads up the Glen to Altnaheglish reservoir and Banagher Forest.

Cairndaisy Wood
Located 8 km north of Cookstown on the east side of Slieve Gallion. Cairndaisy Wood is of both local and national botanical Interest.

Davagh Forest
Situated ten miles north west of Cookstown at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. Davagh has a series of casual trails suitable for most walkers. There may even be an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Sika deer.

Derrynoid Forest
Located just outside Draperstown, this forest houses the Rural College & Derrynoid Centre – an excellent base for a walking holiday. A series of nature trails and walks available with accompanying literatures. Contact: The Rural College and Derrynoid Centre, Draperstown. Tel: 028 7962 9100.

Drum Manor Forest Park
Situated 3 miles west of Cookstown towards Omagh, Drum Manor is of particular botanical interest, with shrub gardens, a butterfly garden and arboretum. Lakes, a heronry and nature trails give the family a fun day out. A tea shop and toilets are also on this site.

Drumcairne Forest
Located just 2 miles east of Stewartstown, this wood has interesting nature trails for the visitor. Features include scenic duck pond.

Glenshane Forest
Just south of the Glenshane Pass and hugging the eastern slopes of Glenshane Mountain the forest offers walking on forest tracks with great views of the Sperrins and towards Lough Neagh.

Goles Forest
Located off the Glenelly Road between Draperstown and Cranagh, Goles Forest offers forest trails with scenic views of the Glenelly Valley.

Gortin Glen Forest Park
Surrounding the village area of Gortin with a range of walks of varying terrain and distance – the Nature Trail (2km) and the Lady’s View Trail (3.5) km. Gortin Burn Walk is a 2 mile trail that follows a burn through Gortin Gap into Gortin Glen Forest Park – a route that links to the existing Ulster Way.

Iniscarn Forest
Located off the A29 Moneymore – Draperstown road, Iniscarn has a range of walks and is also the starting point for those wishing to climb the hillwalk on Slieve Gallion Mountain.

Killeter Forest
West of Castlederg, Killeter forest offers a range of tracks meandering through the low hills of West Tyrone. As this is one of the largest forests in Ireland it is advised that you obtain a copy of sheet 12 (Discoverer Series map) and that you are skilled in map reading before walking in this forest.

Learmount Wood
Located nine miles south west of Dungiven just outside Park village, Learmount Wood is a mixed conifer and broadleaved woodland bordering the River Faughan. This is an early 17th Century Estate established by the Beresford Family.

Lough Braden
Located 5 miles further west from Drumquin, this is a great location to explore the flora and fauna of the area.

Moydamlaght Forest
Located off the B40 just 5 miles north-west of Draperstown, forest nature trails link with neighbouring Hillwalking routes.

Pomeroy Forest
Located just outside Pomeroy village, the forest has an extensive series of nature trails with the opportunity to experience local wildlife.
